What information do we collect?
When you apply to a program listed on our site, you are providing that information directly to the program director and not to YouSTEM.
We collect information from you when you submit a program, provide feedback and testimonials, or otherwise contact us via the Contact Us form. When doing so, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, or phone number.
How do we use this information?
Information submitted is utilized to improve our service by expanding our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, adding to our list of programs, sharing your testimonials with other visitors, and responding to inquiries.
By submitting a testimonial, you are granting us permission to publish this testimonial anonymously. We may contact you to further discuss your experience and/or to obtain explicit authorization to utilize your name or initials in conjunction with the testimonial.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
YouSTEM wants parents to feel at ease with their children's use of our site. Unless your child contacts us via the Contact Us form, we do not collect any personally identifiable information. When your child applies to a program listed on our site, they are providing that information directly to the program director and not to YouSTEM.
Even though we only collect information submitted via the contact us form, we want you to know the following as per the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
We may not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity as a condition of participation.
Parents have the option to agree to the collection and use of their child's information without consenting to the disclosure of the information to third parties.
Parents can review their child's personal information, ask to have it deleted and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child's information.
